Testing

In some cases it may be necessary to investigate a particular health issue further. In this instance we will recommend a specific biochemical test for your needs. This will require a sample (typically blood, urine etc) to be collected and sent to one of our recommended laboratories. The results will then be interpreted by your nutritionist, and the results explained to you in full at your next consultation. Your nutritional therapist will also apply these results to your programme, advising you of any amendments or changes.

At Apricot Nutrition we offer a comprehensive range of tests in the following areas...

Allergy and intolerance testing including...
food allergy and intolerance screening - This is a blood test that detects foods that trigger a type ‘A’ response (classical allergy, when a reaction occurs immediately after eating) and a type ‘B’ response (delayed allergy or intolerance, when a reaction occurs up to 72 hours later).

inhalant allergy screening
- a useful allergy test for anyone with asthma, eczema and recurrent childhood infections.

Antibody profiles including...
gluten test – raised levels of gluten-specific antibodies and other markers can indicate coeliac disease or gluten sensitivity, that can present many digestive symptoms.
